Obsessions with being connected constantly

Today we are bombarded with technology and emerging potential realities. A new software, a new hardware, a new way to use artificial intelligence: it’s all too much. Live streaming via social networks brings people together in real time as new social networks are developed every day. People use their work breaks to check social media.

Maybe it brings us closer together, but does it make us more productive? I don’t think so. Furthermore, why do we need to always be connected? Now there are ideas of how social detoxing can benefit people, and the idea of addiction to digital devices. Our brains are being changed by the technology we are creating. We don’t really think about it every day, but younger generations are being changed every day.

We used to read books. We used to sit by the fire and connect with people face to face. Now a digital screen separates our faces, or provides us with social distance as we browse small snippets of someone else’s life.

When do we disconnect?
