Story behind the calendar
This calendar is inspired by my father, who was a cancer survivor. He accepted chemo therapy treatment and recovered. Ten years later he passed away abruptly from a heart attack. I believe the chemo treatments set him up for this end of life experience.
We did not know that not only did his chemo treatments expose all of us, but it was also damaging his heart. We did not know even sharing beverages with him could expose us to small doses of chemo. I do not believe that chemo should not be an option for cancer patients, but I do believe there are alternatives and that information should be more readily available. (Please feel free to comment below if you have similar experiences or just feel compelled to respond.)
I hope this calendar will promote awareness of some of the amazing plants on our planet so more information and research will be shared for natural healing methods.

I started the project by painting a basil plant. Basil is a summer herb and I will be posting an in depth blog about this specific plant.
