Finding balance during stay-at-home orders

It can really be a challenge to find balance while we are stuck at home right now. On first impulse I want to power through work and dive into projects. Yet, The Artist’s Way mentions how workaholism is artist’s block. Over working may not be the best path to get to your dream job. I’ve been really meditating a lot about this. I grew up believing that hard work would set you on the right path and that the more effort you put into your goals the quicker you will achieve them. However, this has felt in some ways like an utter meltdown during phases of burnout. How can you really see the path ahead if you’re physically and emotionally burned out?

Rest and reflection are the best recovery for discovering where you want to be and for realigning yourself. Maybe there is a hobby you wanted to try and now is the time to start. Maybe you always wanted to learn how to watercolor? Or maybe you’ve always wanted more time to write. Now is the time to dive in. If none of these appeal to you, then I hope this flower can at least put a smile on your face.
