Best Pattern Design Class On the Internet

My bag is inspiration from the Immersion course week 1 program.

This is my weekly blog about my new favorite artist. I find so many on the regular that I’d like to write about one artist a week. AND coincidentally this is the week after women’s day. It’s quite appropriate I’m picking a woman this week to feature.

Pattern design is my ultimate passion and I ran across her class about a month ago. Community colleges typically have more fundamentals courses and private art schools also have pattern classes. However, they are really short, meaning only a few weeks long or one day. I ran across this gem a month ago and it has turned out to be the most comprehensive class I have found yet.

If you’re interested in learning pattern design, then you need to take a look at the Immersion Course by Bonnie Christine. It only comes around once a year and she opens enrollment. There were over 600 students this year in her class. She not only responds to your work and provides feedback, but she also leaves it open for you to review the course any time you want. You get lifetime access and become part of a community.

Simply said. I ran across her patterns on Skillshare a few months ago and was blown away by the shear amount of detail in her botanicals. It shows just how much she has immersed herself in pattern design. She discusses her background and takes you at any level of a design career, even entry level, to taking sketches into the final stages of pattern design. The Skillshare courses are great too, but she offers a learning community in Immersion.

Her immersion course takes you from A - Z on all things pattern related. I highly recommend this course to anyone at any level. Go check it out!
