Get Your Quotes Right Side Up
typographic bane
Ugh…it happened again. I saw a social media post and cringed because the person designed the quote mark upside down. Let’s face it. For editors getting your quote marks wrong side up is just plain infuriating and sloppy. I saw it on more than one of this account’s posts. I don’t mean smart quotes either. I mean straight up - upside down.
I think the following resource would be great for anyone feeling rusty with typography. I know we have all been out of school for a while, but it’s great to have a refresher here and there. This quote article lays out the basics for how to use smart quotes.
