What does the 2019 pantone say about the year?

January is an exciting time of year for designers as trends update colors, fonts, and styles. The pantone for this year PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral is provocative and fresh. Coral means life. It reminds me of tangerine pop tarts and bright colored sodas. The Pantone for last year, which was a deep purple color, felt pensive and deeply engaging on a social level. It appropriately reflected the social and political issues we were facing during 2018. However, this new Pantone color reflects a fresh optimism for 2019. This rich and feminine color feels like the new mystic. I could not help but feel optimistic when I saw the new Pantone for 2019.
